About the Event
The U.S. Senate and the House of Representatives are controlled by Republicans whose goals are to increase fossil fuel production and cut programs that support the health of our climate, our planet, and our people. By crafting the next federal budget, Republicans can control how much will, or won't, be spent on climate initiatives. Our speaker will explain how the budget process likely will impact climate programs and funding, and what climate activists can do about it.
Our speaker is Shannon Baker-Branstetter, Senior Director of Domestic Climate Policy, Center for American Progress. Shannon previously led federal and state policy and coalitions on climate, racial equity, transportation, and energy at Dream Corps Green For All (now Green For All | Dream.Org).
The meeting will begin with words of Jewish wisdom from Kimberly Ariella Dueñas, Director of Learning and Founding Member of Jewtina y Co.
