390 Jews Lobbied the US Senate

Action for People and Planet on Tu Bishvat

Jews from 26 states lobbied the Senate at 42 meetings for action on climate change with Jewish Earth Alliance on Thursday, Tu Bishvat, the Jewish Earth Day.  Congress is facing unprecedented challenges by the Administration to its constitutional role as the “power of the purse,” the ability to tax and spend public money for the national government.  Consequently, lobby meetings focused on urging Senators to protect funding allocated for climate solutions in the Inflation Reduction Act, protect the budget of the Environmental Protection Agency, and pass the Polluters Pay Climate Fund Act.
